Library

Welcome to our Library

Our School Library is a friendly and welcoming space which offers all students a quiet place to read or study. Managed by Mrs Novella, our Librarian, the Library is open to all students and staff from 8am every day, during breaktimes and also as after school on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays until 4pm. Sixth Form students are also welcome to use the library during lesson time for silent study.

The Librarian is on hand every day to welcome, support and advise students and our stock of approximately 8,000 books offers a wide range of resources, including fiction and non-fiction titles for all ages and abilities. The collection is contemporary, diverse and inclusive and comprises teen and young adult fiction, biographies and autobiographies, classic titles, graphic novels, manga, easy readers and non-fiction information books which support the curriculum and personal interests.

Within the Library, students also have access to computers for research and homework, and students in Years 7, 8 and 9 enjoy fortnightly Library lessons during which they can spend quiet time to read and develop their literacy, knowledge and skills.

Reading clubs run all year round and are available in the Library during lunchtimes on various days during the week - please refer to the Clubs list on the Clubs & Activities page for more information.

Borrowing books

Students are permitted to borrow three books for two weeks at any one time and books out on loan can be renewed as many times as required. Books can be returned at any time during the day via the ‘Book Returns Box’ inside the library door. If a book becomes overdue, an email will be sent as a reminder.
