Students at St Gregory's Catholic School have collectively completed an outstanding 2,938 hours of volunteering through the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, demonstrating the school's commitment to faith, service and active citizenship. 

The total, recorded between April 2025 and March 2026, is equivalent to 123 days of service and represents a significant increase on the previous year's total of 2,223 hours. Through their volunteering, students have given their time and talents to support others, making a meaningful difference within local communities.

The volunteering section of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award encourages young people to step beyond their comfort zones and contribute to causes that matter to them. Whether supporting charities, helping younger children, assisting community groups, volunteering in sports clubs or serving within parish communities, students develop valuable life skills while making a positive impact on the lives of others.

At St Gregory's, service is central to our Catholic mission. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award provides students with opportunities to put their faith into action, developing compassion, responsibility and a deeper understanding of the needs of others. These experiences help young people grow in confidence and character while reinforcing the values that sit at the heart of our school community.

Every hour volunteered represents a choice to give something back. Collectively, these nearly 3,000 hours reflect the generosity, commitment and sense of social responsibility shown by St Gregory's students. They demonstrate that learning extends beyond the classroom and that young people can play an important role in strengthening the communities around them.
