Safeguarding

At St Gregory’s, we take safeguarding very seriously and both the school and the KCSP Trust ensure that it is a key priority in all aspects of school life. Safeguarding at St Gregory’s is seen as the responsibility of all members of our school community which means we encourage all students and parents to raise any concerns they may have.

Throughout the school, staff regularly complete regular and robust training in relation to safeguarding matters and education about safeguarding is firmly embedded throughout our curriculum. The aim is for our students to feel secure, that they are valued, and every child is encouraged to talk in the knowledge that they will be listened to.

Within St Gregory’s, we have a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs) and our Pastoral structure which provides a team of staff who are dedicated to ensuring that children are safe, as well as offering students support and advice.

For any concerns regarding the welfare of a student, please contact the relevant member of the Safeguarding team as listed on our Contact Us page or email the Safeguarding team on: safeguarding@sgschool.org.uk

If you have a safeguarding concern about a member of staff, please contact:
Mr M Wilson – Headteacher: staffconcerns@sgschool.org.uk

We also work in partnership with the NHS, Social Services, Kent Police and other agencies, to support any young people whose needs cannot be met by the school, or require additional support.

If you have a child protection concern, and you feel the child is in immediate danger or risk of harm and you cannot get hold of the staff above, a referral should be made to Social Services or the Police immediately.
